Ogun Pilgrims Hold Special Prayer Session To Celebrate Gov Abiodun's 64th Birthday

 


Muslim pilgrims from Ogun State have conducted a special prayer session in Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for Governor Dapo Abiodun, to commemorate his 64th birthday and fifth year in office.

In his sermon during the prayer session, organised by the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee for Hajj, Alhaji Hussein Kehinde, lauded Governor Abiodun for his significant infrastructural developments in the state since his emergence in office, noting that his dedication to the citizens’ welfare was outstanding, he prayed that Allah would grant the governor more strength and wisdom to lead the state to greater heights.

Remarking, the Consultant to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Iskeel Lawal, appreciated the governor for his unwavering financial and moral support to religious organisations, pointing out that Governor Abiodun’s swift action in addressing the shortfall in the Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) for pilgrims from the state was a proof of his commitment to religious activities in the state.

Sheikh Lawal admonished pilgrims to use the pilgrimage to pray for the governor’s health and success for good governance in the state.

On his part, the Amir-Hajj, Sheikh Tajudeen Adewunmi, expressed gratitude to the governor for his consistent support for religious matters.
