Nigeria's business mogul and Chief Executive Officer of Doyin Investment Limited, Prince (Dr) Samuel Adedoyin, has donated a one-storey ICT Building to Lagos State University.Ojo, to further enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Institution
The ultra-modern facility was officially handed over to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello who led members of the university management and other functionaries on an appreciation visit to the donor at his Lagos Island Office on Monday
Prince Adedoyin said that the donation was to demonstrate his appreciation for what God has done in his life.
"There was a time I was talking to God about what I wanted from him. At the time, all I wanted was just a Volkswagen and a bungalow. But God did many more for me and made me who I am today. I felt that I should appreciate God for all He has done by giving to the university on whose land I made all my achievements," he stated
The Vice-Chancellor, in her remarks, lauded Prince Adedoyin for the altruistic donation, which according to her, will enhance the ICT services of the university.
"To have such a big structure donated to our university is something we are very grateful for. We thank you and pray that God will continue to bless you sir", she said.
She further announced that the investment guru would be conferred with an honorary degree alongside other eminent Nigerians during the university's 27th Convocation Ceremony, holding between 30th May and 6th June 2024.
Director, Directorate of ICT, Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, who was also on the VC's delegation, expressed appreciation for the ICT Building. He reported that LASU has gone digital in its services and embraced hybrid teaching, and as such, the donation was coming at the right time. He assured that the facility would be put to optimal use.
