Awujako of Ijakoland in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Mathew Alabi Ewedairo has disowned one , Nasiru Jimoh as Otun Awujako for allegedly diverting a huge sum of N19.5m, provided by Dangote Group between 2018 and 2020 for execution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in the community
The monarch addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, explained that Nasiru had since been removed as Otun Awujako and replaced with Chief Tokunbo Saubana Akinsanya on February 28, 2021 , after the alleged diversion of money donated by Dangote for development Ijako community was discovered
According to him, a sum of N6.5million was allegedly collected for each year between 2018 and 2020 from Dangote for development of various projects in the community which could not be traced with the said period
Oba Ewedairo who asked Nasiru to stop parading himself as Otunba Awujako, also cautioned Dangote Cement Plant and other members of the public to stop dealing with him on behalf of the Ijako community, warning who ever deals with him, of doing so at his or her peril and the community would not be responsible for implication of such unholy act
The traditional ruler who ascended the throne of Awujako on the same day Nasiru was removed as Otun Awujako, also put it on record that the deposed Chief was never a prince from royal family (Ogunsi Oluolo Ruling House) as claimed by him
Oba Ewedairo however commended Dangote Group whose Cement Plant operating in the community has been doing well with execution of various projects and empowerment programmes for youths and women within the Ijako which is among host communities
