A 45 year-old man, Ishola Abayomi John is facing a 13-count charge before an Abeokuta Magistrate Court in the Ogun State capital, for allegedly impersonating his friend's ex-wife, Barrister Seyi Olanrewaju and falsifying letter headed document and signature of the lawyer to dupe unsuspecting members of the public, most especially on landed property for over two years between January 2022 and March, 2024
Ishola Abayomi who was first arraigned for the alleged impersonation on a three -count charge on 7th of March, 2024, is also accused of making use of a rubber stamp bearing the name of Seyi Olanrewaju and Co and used it to make deed of agreement, an offence punishable under section 484 of Criminal Code , Volume 1 Law of Ogun State
The accused person appearing before Magistrate Abimbola Morakinyo, was alleged to have used letter headed document bearing the name of the lawyer and her office address which is a punishable offence under section 467 of Criminal Code, Law of Ogun State, 2006
Ishola Abayomi is equally being charged for allegedly falsifying letter headed paper, stamp and signature of the lawyer to make deed of land agreement for Wemimo Samuel, Yusuf Ibrahim, Rahmat Adenike Ayomide, Adewale Opeyemi Oladipupo , Chief Rofiu A. Lawal , Shamsideen Abdul Rosheed, Adenekan Adedeji Adeniyi and Babayeju Azeezat
The accused person's lawyer failed to appear in court on Monday, 13th of May, for continuation of hearing of the matter, forcing the court to adjourn till 5th of June, 2024 for further hearing
