An Ogun State based Non-Governmental Organization, Ireede-Oginni Grassroots Foundation has called on Muslims across Nigeria to always Imbibe the spirit of Zakat, an act of almsgiving to the poor, which is one of the lessons of Ramadan
Founder of the foundation, Chief (Hon.) Funmilayo Ireede-Oginni who made the call on Wednesday in her Eid-el-Fitr message to Muslim faithfuls marking end of this year's fasting, said imbibing such lesson through support to the less priviledged in the country would encourage the needy to rise and achieve their full potentials for the economic growth of the country
The foundation felicitating Muslims on the celebration of the festive period, urged them to always promote love and peaceful co-existence with others irrespective of their religious beliefs which is one of the lessons of Ramadan Fasting
She assured that the foundation would continue to sustain its support for the less priviledged in the society through scholarship to the indigent pupils who are brilliant and talented to enable them actualize their respective dreams while assisting women with various empowerment initiatives to make life meaningful for them
