SSANU Lauds LAUTECH Acting Vice-Chancellor For Sustaining Industrial Harmony

Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State has lauded the leadership style of Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof Rom Kalilu for ensuring industrial harmony among various unions on campus by responding promptly to demands of workers without prolonged agitations 

The Branch Chairman of SSANU , Comrade Hamzat Fajoye who gave the commendation during the recently held sendforth party, award ceremony and health talk  for retired members of the union, however quickly urged the management of the university to create a welfare package system that will recognize and celebrate the retirees

"t is not out of place to appreciate the university management ably led by a dynamic and a God fearing leader, Prof. R.O.Rom Kalilu, the Acting Vice Chancellor and his team for making us proud as university staff for their timely response to our requests without prolonged agitation,"he stated 

He assured members  that the union would continue to organize sendforth party and award ceremony to appreciate retiring members for their  contributions to the growth of the union and university during their active days 

Fajoye also called members to be more dedicated to their official duties by  supporting the management of the university 
"I want to implore us to continue to do our works diligently and continue to support the university management and our unions to enable a continuous enjoyment of the dividends of a good university governance in an atmosphere of peace to guarantee our rights and privileges", he charged

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rom Kalilu in his remarks,  assured students as well as both academic and non-academic staff of commitment of the management of the university to sustenance of conducive learning and working environment through provision of adequate welfare packages for them 

He commended the various unions for their support to the management of the university, which according to him, has been sustaining the peace being enjoyed on campus so far 

The colourful event was spiced up with presentation of awards to the past leaders and retired members of the union and health talk for members
