FG Wants Partnership With Ogun Govt To Boost Affordable Housing

Federal Government (FG) has expressed its readiness to partner with Ogun State Government in providing well-serviced and affordable houses that would complement the housing policy of the present administration in the state.

This indication emerged during a visit of delegates from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to the State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Speaking, Jagunmolu Omoniyi said as a responsive and responsible government, the Ministry had not relaxed  in meeting the housing needs of the people across all strata, appreciating the collaboration of the Federal government and private organisations on the provision of decent accommodation in the state, which had considerably reduced housing deficit to the barest minimum.

The Commissioner assured that the present administration would continue to partner and key into the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of President Bola Tinubu, at ensuring that affordable housing was provided for the people, to ameliorate hardship being experienced in the country.

Earlier, the Head of the delegation, Town Planner Taiwo Adeluola appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun’s giant strides in the housing sector, soliciting for a suitable and viable land with adequate off-site infrastructure, for easy accessibility to the housing project, in preparation for the actualisation of its vision.

Adeluola revealed that the FG was set to commence the construction of 34,500 housing units in 36 states of the federation, including Federal Capital Territory, to bridge the housing deficit in the country.

"The Renewed Hope Estates will consist of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom flats affordable multi-levels flats and bungalow for low income earners, as well as high-end detached bungalows terraces and duplexes for high income earners", he said.
