Three of the former students of the Department of Architecture, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta have launched three academic awards for brilliant students in honour of the Institution's former Rector and Chief Lecturer, Arc.Olatokunbo Ayodele Fowode who retired from the public service over the weekend
The former students include Oluwole Akanbi as well as Dr.Olusegun Oluwole and Arc.Olawale Biyi who are also former staff of the department, announced the awards during the valedictory's public lecture organized by the management of the institution for Fowode who attained the retirement age of 65 after 40 years of meritorious service as an academic and administrator
Wife of one of the donors of the student awards, Mrs Modupe Abosede Biyi who made this known on behalf of them, revealed the awards to include "Arc.Tokunbo Fowode's Excellence In Architectural Design Award", "Arc.Tokunbo Fowode's Leadership In Environmental Studies Excellence Award" and that of "Arc.Tokunbo Fowode's Lifetime Achievement In Education Award"
The former students described the celebrant as a distinguished individual, a luminary in the world of academia, architecture and administration
According to them, Fowode passion for design of architecture has ignited a flame in the hearts and minds of countless students.
"Through engaging lectures, thought-provoking discussions and hands-on projects , he has moulded the next generation of architects , instilling in them the creativity and analytical skills necessary to thrive in this dynamic field", they stated
