Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says workers on the payroll of the Ogun State Government will only be happy and hopeful ,if the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N703billion presented by Governor Dapo Abiodun last Thursday before the State House of Assembly, made provision for the settlement of the outstanding global deductions, unpaid leave allowances and proposed wage award to cushion the effect of economic hardship caused by Federal Government's removal of fuel subsidy

" At level of workforce, we believe that the 2024 budget would have taken care of outstanding global deductions from workers salaries, outstanding leave allowances and possibly factored in the proposed wage award that we organized labour are still expecting Governor Dapo Abiodun to call on us for a meeting to negotiate the wage award. I believe it that is done , the budget would have been a very welcome one and hopeful one for workers in the state ", he stated

The State NLC who described the recent award given to him as a call to do more for workforce and entire people of the state, stressed the need for the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration to implement more of impactful programmes and projects to consolidate on its achievements recorded so far in the areas of education, industry, health and other sectors of the economy in the coming fiscal year

His words ", The budget was well spread and cut across various aspects of the economy but notwithstanding people of the state are still expecting more to be done by Governor Dapo Abiodun in alleviating the poverty and level of hardship being experienced as a result of removal of fuel subsidy, sometimes this year by the Federal Government "
