Ogun MDAs Begin Defence of 2024 Budget Proposal On Monday




Ministries , Departments and Agencies of the Ogun State Government will be defending their budgetary allocation
before the State House of Assembly as from this Monday, 18th of December, 2023 in  the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N703billion 

Those MDAs expected on first day of the exercise according to time released by the State House of Assembly and obtained by Edu-Biznews, include Ministries of Women Affairs and Social Development, Health, Community Development and Cooperation, Youths and Sports Development as well as relevant departments and agencies under the respective ministries


Also Offices of Auditor General for the State and that of Auditor General for Local Governments will also defending their respective allocation on the same day 

The exercise is expected to end on Friday, 22nd of December, 2023 , with Ministry of Finance and that of Budget and Planning, Ogun State Revenue Agency amongst others 

Governor Dapo Abiodun had last 30th of November, 2023 presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill christened Budget of "Sustained Growth and Development" before the house which included capital expenditure of N415.66 billion and recurrent expenditure of N287.37billion 

The largest allocation of N209.1billion representing 30percent of the budget size was set aside for infrastructure and road projects, N109.21billion,( 16 percent) to Education, N81.18billion (12percent ) to Health, while three percent was voted for recreation and culture, with 4percent on social protection, both agricultural and industrial sectors got a meagre amount of N14.21 billion representing just two percent of the total budget estimate
