Gov.Dapo Abiodun Rewards Mountain Top Varsity's Best Graduating Student With Cash Prize Of N2m




Governor Dapo Abiodun has rewarded Miss. Victoria Amaechi, the 2022 Best Graduating Student of Mountain Top University, Ibafo, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, with a cash prize of N2million to further demonstrate his administration's commitment to encouragement of academic excellence among learners from both public and private schools for better productivity in  the State 

Governor Abiodun who was represented by Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu during the presentation of the  cheque to the beneficiary in Abeokuta, assured that the present administration would continue to sustain the tradition of academic excellence in the state, with such cash prize 

 ‘’Government has made it a tradition to always give a tangible amount of money every year to the best-graduating learners in tertiary institutions across the State, regardless of ethnicity’’, adding that the initiative would help cultivate reading culture and provoke the spirit of positive competitiveness among learners", he stated 

Arigbabu disclosed that recently, the present administration organised Teachers' and Schools Awards, where different categories of teachers from public primary and secondary schools were honoured with houses and cash prizes, to enhance productivity, promote quality teaching and reinforce effective learning.

"We have a Governor that is committed to rewarding excellence, not only among the learners, but the hand of his generosity was being extended to teachers also, this shows his passion for education and he will not stop until the sector gets to the desired position", he said.

The beneficiary, Miss Amaechi, from the Department of Microbiology, who got a 4.96 Grade Point Average (GPA), appreciated Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for the gesture, noting that the huge investment in the education sector was yielding good results already.
