Over 300 SME Owners, Market women In Ogun Get Grants From FG




No fewer than 300 owners of Small and Medium Scale Businesses and market women  in  Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State have benefitted from the grants disbursed by the Federal Government under the OG-Cares initiative 

Secretary to the Government of Ogun State, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi disclosed this during a Town Hall meeting held in Ijebu-Igbo for Ijebu-North Constituents  organised by the Lawmaker representing Ijebu-North, Ijebu-East, and Ogun-Waterside Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan, to appreciate the constituents for his election and harness their inputs and contributions,  preparatory to the National Budgeting Processes.

Talabi assured that more qualified people in the local government would benefit from the proposed appointment of 3,000 teachers by the State government following the directive of the Governor.

Speaking on the requests and demands made by the people at the meeting, Talabi assured them that the government would do all within its resources to bring more succor to the people.

Also speaking, Hon. Adegbesan who is representing Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East and Ogun-Waterside Federal constituency, said efforts were ongoing to connect Ogun-Waterside to the national grid, revive Apoje Oil plantation and create an institute with the plantation, 

He added that though some of the people of the area had been employed through the State Local Government Service Commission, assuring that more of the constituents are billed for employment through the Federal Civil Service Commission, as soon as government lifts the embargo on employment among many other things.

Crucial among the demands made by the constituents include rehabilitation of rural roads and markets, provision of solar-powered street lights, tractors, grants, and fertilizers for farmers, and eradication of encroachment of farmlands by Fulani herdsmen, among other requests.
