Mowe-Ofada Road Will Be Ready By End Of October - Gov.Abiodun Assures

Governor Dapo Abiodun has assured commuters and motorists playing the ongoing 8-kilometer Mowe-Ofada road in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State of the completion of the road in the coming month of  October 

The road when completed will serve as an alternative road to the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

         

GovernorAbiodun during his assessment and inspection of the road, said the completion of the road project would be in fulfillment of the promise made to the people of the area

He noted that the redesigning of the project would accommodate an outfall, so as to ensure the smooth flow of water in the drainage.

         

He stated that his administration since its inception in 2019 had ensured equitable distribution of infrastructure across the 20 Local Government of the State, saying the Mowe-Ofada road falls in the category of abandoned roads his administration inherited from his predecessor.

         

The Governor pointed out that approval of the State Executive Council would be sought to commence construction of Adesan road in the Local Government, assuring that a new contractor would be mobilised to the site.

       

  “I am here to see for myself the progress of work on this Mowe-Ofada road and I have promised them that this road will be completed the way anyone expects a road to be completed, not just by putting a binder course which wears in no time, but by putting both a binder course and a wearing course.

          

"Because we are an inclusive administration, they have also murmured to my hearing, both our member representing this Local Government at the House of Assembly and Chairman of the council that there is a particular road that is of extreme importance to them, they call it the Adesan road, about two to three kilometers.

          

In their remarks, the Baale of Mowe, Alhaji Yahaya Oriyomi, the Public Relations Officer of the Council of Baales in the State, Chief Kasunmu Sonola and the Iyaloja of Mowe, Alhaja Morufat Adebiyi commended the Governor for working towards the timely completion of the road project.
