Nigeria's D'Tigress on Saturday made history, clinching their four consecutive title at the recently concluded 2023 Women FIBA Africa Basketball Championship, after beating hard-fighting Senegalese side 84-74 inside Kigali Arena Rwanda
The African reigning queens started on the game on a very impressive note, winning the first quarter 19-10
D'Tigress continued their dominance in the second quarter with 24-21 but the Senegalese fought back in the third quarter, recording 26point against 19 points made by the Nigerian side
The Nigerian side came back forcefully in the last quarter and ended the encounter with 10points margin to put the final score at 84-74 points as they claimed their sixth Africa title and four consecutive win in final of the competition
It will be recalled that D'Tigress won the previous editions of 2017, 2019 and 2021 before winning the 2023 edition
The African queens had earlier in the semi-final stage , overwhelmed host Rwanda 79-48 points before setting up historic final with arch-rivals Senegal who had won the title for 11 times
