Traditionalists Celebrate Isese Day....Hail Gov Abiodun For Declaration Of Public Holiday In Ogun







Traditionalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital celebrated Isese Day on Sunday, 20th of August,2023 in a grand style with large crowd of worshippers at the Oke-Abola Prayers Mountain in Oke-Aregba area of the ancient city

Prominent traditionalists including the Baasegun of Egbaland,  Chief (Dr) Lias Koleoso , Oluwo -Ifa of Ogun State, Chief Aregbesola Anipupo, Olipede Olojoru who is the Olu of Itori-Oke, Oba Kasali Afolabi and General Secretary, House of Assembly of Babalawos in Egbaland, Chief Ifasola Akanbi in separate interviews with newsmen were full of praises for Governor Dapo Abiodun for the political will of his administration in recognizing and declaring every 20th of August as Isese Day for the traditional worshippers to celebrate the day in Ogun State, with the declaration of this Monday as public holiday


Chief Koleoso, the Baasegun of Egbaland speaking at his palace at Oke-Aregba area, showered encomium on Governor Abiodun, describing as a man of blessings for spear-heading the recognition of Isese-Cultural Day against all odds before other governors in Lagos, Osun and Oyo States follow suit by declaring this Monday as public holiday in their respective states 

"We are grateful to the Akake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo for his efforts and Governor Abiodun for given recognition to traditional religion just like the two other major religions in Nigeria"

He advised the traditional worshippers, particularly the Ifa-priests in the state to conduct themselves within the confines regulations of the practice of Ifa  and the laws of the state




Similarly Ifasola Akanbi who is the General Secretary of House of Assembly of Ifa Priests  in Egbaland, disabused minds of many people who strongly believe that the traditional religion is about fetish, describing Isese (traditional religion) as religion that guide the good conduct of every individual 










We are devotees of Orunmila , we worship God ,we will continue to be grateful and appreciate Governor Abiodun , it will be in record that his administration did what other previous administrations failed to do by recognizing and declaring every 20th of August as Isese Day for traditionists to worship just like it is being done in Argentina, Cuba , Brazil and other countries

The traditionalists mostly dressed in white attires  visited the Ake-Palace Ground in large number to celebrate Isese Day with the Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and other traditional rulers
