Ireede Grassroots Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization based in Ogun State is celebrating a frontline politician, administrator and a member of Governing Council of the State Government owned Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) Ago-Iwoye, Chief(Dr) Mrs Matilda Iyabode Apampa who turns 75 years of age this Sunday, 6th of August, 2023
Founder of the foundation, Hon.Funmilayo Ireede -Oginni in a congratulatory message on Sunday, appreciated the numerous contributions of the former Commissioner for Education and philanthropist to development of the Yewa axis and entire state, wishing her more blessings and good health to further serve humanity
Ireede Grassroots Foundation committed to total education and empowerment of the less privileged in the society, is proud to be associated with Apampa who celebrated the landmark event in the presence of God Almighty who has graciously granted her the grace to live thus far.
The foundation showered encomium on Apampa who had a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday at the Headquarters of her Church, the New Covenant Apostolic Church International, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital
The NGO recalled the various roles played by the celebrant as an Astute Public Administrator, Philanthropist, Religious Leader and Advocate for Women Empowerment, who is serving as a member of the Ogun State Elders Council, a member of the Apex Body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, and earlier served as the first female Chairman of the Board of Directors, Odua Group of Companies.
Ireede Grassroots Foundation is also full of praises for Apampa who had earlier served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of many Federal and State Governments' Agencies including Chairman, Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority; Chairman, Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Abeokuta and Chairman,Assurance Bank Plc
The foundation noted with nostalgia, her
roles in Community Development and how she was nominated by the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, HRM Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle as the Ilaro-Yewa Community representative in the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
Apampa has had many awards and laurels bestowed on her; including honorary doctorate award from the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode.
