No fewer than 1.2 million candidates in secondary schools across Nigeria registered for the on-going 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE, being conducted by the National Examinations Council, (NECO)
Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi revealed this in a statement made available on Friday by the examination body’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani
“Prof. Wushishi who observed the conduct of the test at several schools, says 601,074 of these candidates are male, while 584,814 are female,” he stated.
He expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the 2023 SSCE.based on the reports received across the country
The Registrar stated that the 2023 SSCE, which will be held next week, will be the finest organized in previous years.
“Prof. Wushishi revealed that various measures had been put in place to combat examination malpractice and that the measures had begun to yield positive results.”
“The Registrar who oversaw the examination at Airforce Military School, King and Queens Academy, and Emmanuel International College, all in Jos, expressed satisfaction with the way the examination was conducted in these schools.”
“Prof. Wushishi had previously monitored the conduct of the 2023 SSCE in the states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, and Bauchi,” the statement states.
