Arrangement has been concluded for holding of the inauguration of the Tenth Ogun State House of Assembly this Tuesday, 13th June, 2023, following the dissolution of the Ninth Assembly and the issuance of proclamation for the holding of the first session of the Tenth Assembly by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The Clerk\Head of Legislative Service, Mr. 'Deji Adeyemo who made this known in a statement made available to Edu-biznews on Sunday, said that the inauguration, which was in line with Section 105(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (as amended), would include election of presiding officers and the administration of Oaths on Members-elect from the 26 State Constituencies.
According to the statement, the event will take place at the Hallowed Chamber of the Assembly Complex, Oke Mosan at 10:00a.m. prompt.
Adeyemo enjoined the Members-elect, Guests and other Government Functionaries to be seated by 9.30a.m. prompt
Edu-biznews observed that only eleven members including the outgone speaker of the house, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo from Ifo-One Constituency who were part of the ninth Assembly will be returning as members-elect for the incoming legislature
Oluomo has declared his interest in recontesting for the speakership with likely Hon. Daisi Elemide whom some believe has what it takes to contest the seat as a three -term member from Odeda Constituency within the same Ogun Central Senatorial Districts and same All Progressives Congress ( APC)
The configuration of members-elect include 17 members of the ruling APC and remaining nine members from opposition, People's Democratic Party (PDP)
