TASUED Re-opens On Thursday ..Senate Warns Students Against Cultism




Senate and Governing Counçil of   Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun Ijebu-Ode has ordered re-opening of the Ogun State Government owned tertiary institution this Thursday, 15th, June, 2023 for academic activities after it was shutdown more than two weeks ago following the fracas between students and members of host community of Imaweje over alleged killing of a 300 level Student for Cultism  

Registrar of the university, Dapo Oke who announced the re-opening in a statement obtained by Edu-biznews  on Tuesday, also warned that the Institution's zero tolerance for Cultism is still operational and students found contravening any of the university's rules and regulations will be summarily dealt with, enjoining students to always maintain cordial relationship with their host communities 


Oke who doubles as the Secretary to the council, explained that the decision to re-open the university was taken on Tuesday at the emergency meeting of the Senate of the Institution after consideration of the interim report of the Special Committee set up to investigate the Imaweje/Students fracas 

The Senate of the university also reviewed the academic calendar for the session and approved the extension of Teaching Practice for 400 level students by one month

According to the statement," Matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students will take place on Wednesday, 21st June, 2023 while first semester examination for  100-300 level students will commence on first week of July, 2023"

The statement added that the Electronic Test for Students would continue on Monday, 19th of June, 2023
