NPFL:Ogun SWAN Hails Remo Stars Super 6 Qualification..Seeks Disbandment Of Gateway Utd's Management

Ogun State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the management and technical staff of Remo Stars Football Club, Ikenne-Remo for the club's  qualification for Super 6 play-off, to determine the eventual winners of the elite league in the country

Remo Stars had recorded a massive 4-0 win against the visiting Kwara United of Ilorin in a last Group A match of the Nigeria Premier Football League played on Sunday at the magnificent Remo Stars International Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, to secure the vital three maximum points to finish second with 33points behind  Insurance FC of Benin and ahead of Enyimba International of Aba who came third with 32 point after settling for a goalless draw with Shooting Stars FC in Ibadan

SWAN in a statement by its Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji described the qualification of Remo Stars as a dint of hardwork , dedication and committment of players, technical staff and management of the club

"The team's qualification for the NPFL Super 6 was not by sheer luck, but a dint of hard work, dedication, and commitment of players, technical staff, and management of the club to redefine football management in Nigeria and put the state on the world map again", the association stated

"It is our hope that, Remo Stars will do well during the qualifying series and win the ticket to represent the country in next season's continental competition which will once again put Ogun state on the world map".

The association urges the players to continue to work with determination and motivation to maintain the momentum displayed during the abridged league season and avoid any mistake that could hamper their continental ticket qualification.

SWAN  used the opportunity to call on Ogun State Government to disband Gateway United football club management and study the developmental stride of Remo Stars to form an economically viable football team that will compete for honours and justify the taxpayers money.

Gateway are on now walking on a tight rope after recording an impressive performance in the second tier Nigeria National League

The team which lost at home by a lone-goal to Ijebu United FC, must win its last group match in the league against Crown FC of Ogbomoso at home in Ijebu-Ode to escape relegation to lower division
