2023 Hajj : Airlifting Of The First Batch OF Ogun Pilgrims Begins Monday



Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), says the  first batch of its 1,234 intending pilgrims and three officials will depart Nigeria for Saudi Arabia this Monday, May 29, 2023.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda who revealed this during the final Seminar organised for the intending Pilgrims at the Secretariat Muslim Community Mosque, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, said all arrangements had been concluded to airlift them.

Salau says  it is important for the intending pilgrims to be ready, in order not to miss the scheduled flight for the appointed date, noting that the State had set machinery in motion for a successful airlift.

“We are very much ready for the Holy Pilgrimage to be seamless. Our government is particular about the welfare of its intending pilgrims, so as a result we have made necessary arrangements to make it a memorable exercise", he assured the pilgrims

Also speaking, the Chairman Ad-hoc Committee of the Board, Imam Tajudeen Ashaye, appreciated the State government for the opportunity to serve and to contribute his quota to the propagation of Islam, enjoining them to follow the rules and regulations of the Saudi Arabian Authority.

 In his lecture, the Chief Imam of Owode-Yewa, Alhaji Olasunkanmi Ewuoso urged intending pilgrims to have good intentions before embarking on the journey, saying the fear of Almighty Allah should be their topmost priority.


Contributing, representative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Prince Adekanbi Abdul-Rahman, enjoined them to shun drug trafficking and other related offenses.
