Ogun State Government has warned property owners against building without a building authorisation from its Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA), describing such action as illegal.
The State, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Town Planner Olatunji Odunlami issued the warning during his official visit to Nestle Nigeria Plc, flower gate factory, along Sagamu- Abeokuta Expressway
Odunlami accompanied by
Acting General Manager of the agency , Engr. Olakunle Olaniran,
threatened that any construction of building without the Letter of Authorisation issued by the
Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA) would lead to demolition of such building
The Commissioner stated that the directive was in compliance with the Building Production Management Regulations 2022, which makes it mandatory for developers to notify OGBPMA through a Letter of Intent, seven days before the commencement of building construction
In his remark, Engr. Olaniran commended Nestle Plc, for abiding by the OGBPMA building regulations, saying it was the responsibility of the agency to ensure that buildings were built rightly with quality materials and under the supervision of qualified professionals in the built industry
