Ogun State Government owned , Gateway United Football Club have crashed out of the ongoing Federation Cup, after a painful loss to the elite league side Kwara United who moved to the next round via a 4-2 penalty shoot out win
Both sides had ended their regulation time at a one-all in the round of 64 match played at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan,the Oyo State capital
Olajide Mustapha gave the Gateway boys the lead in the 47th minute of the encounter but Samad Kadri drew level for the Afonja Warriors in the 67th minute which extended the match to penality shootouts
Kwara United converted four of the kicks while the second tier Nigeria National League side, Gateway United could only convert two of the kicks
