Ogun State Government has installed street lights in Ago-Kuti in Oloparun, Iga Ilu Oyinbo, Olohunleke, Harmony Estate, Ola Fatia Glorious, and Botiku Asipa Alapoti communities in Ado-Odo/ Ota Local Government Area, to further demonstrate its committment to electrification of rural communities in the state and make it attractive for people to do their businesses
The State Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Jamiu Odetoogun
who handed over the project to the benefiting communities, said the present administration was determined to ensure that rural communities were provided with durable power supply, to enhance their living conditions and business activities.
Hon. Odetoogun, represented by the Director for Rural Electrification, Engr. Ismail Balogun, stated that ‘’this project is part of efforts of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to lighten up the rural areas that are far away from the grid”, adding that Yewa South Local Government Area and some parts in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area were the next to benefit from the project.
The Commissioner urged the people of the benefitting communities to take ownership of the project and prevent it from being vandalised by unscrupulous elements.
In their separate appreciative remarks, the community head of Botiku Asipa and Aare Adeen, Alapoti Central Mosque, High Chief Jimoh Odetoogun, and Alhaji Saubana Babajide respectively, lauded the giant strides of the government, particularly on infrastructure, pledging continued community members' support for the progress of the State.
