Ijebu United Football Club on Sunday continued with their impressive run in the ongoing second tier Nigeria National League , after managing a lone-goal win against Gateway United FC in a local derby played at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode.

The Ijebu-Ode based team had earlier recorded similar win on the road in the league opener against Joys Cometh of Lagos, just as their local rivals , Gateway United did against Crown FC in Ogbomoso
The match saw , the visiting team's goalkeeper, Araromi Ibukun making three key saves to keep the hosts at bay within the first 20minutes of play before the Coach Toyin Ayinla tutored side were reduced to 10 players in the 41st minute after a mild shove on Ihemokwele Ifeanyi prior to a goal-kick over an off-the-ball bust-up.
Haruna Salifu came close to getting the equalizer for visitors but the homeside faught hard to defend the lead within the stopage time
Gateway United now look forward to getting back to winning ways on matchday 3 clash against Sporting Lagos FC on Saturday April 1st, 2023 at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode.
