It was a different tale for Nigerian teams Rivers United Football Club and Flying Eagles in the continental outings on Sunday at two major competitions for clubs and national teams
Rivers United bounced back from their 3-0 loss to a Congo- Brazavile side, Diables Noirs in their CAF Conferation Cup league opener ,to thrash ASEC Mimosa of Coted' Ivoire by the same margin 3-0 in Port Harcourt
The Nigerian Champions are now in second position with three points behind Diables Noirs with four points, while Motema Pembe are with two points and ASEC at the bottom with just a point in group
In AFCON U-20 in Egypt, Flying Eagles began their quest for a World cup ticket on a shaky note, after a narrow lone-goal loss to their Senegalese counter part in a group A match
The Ladan Bosso tutored side must win their two remaining matches in the group including against host Egypt on Wednesday ,to rekindle the hope of qualifying from the group stage before moving to the last four to secure one of the four tickets for Africa at the U-20 World Youth Championship
Host Egypt and Mozambique settled for a draw in the other group match played earliest
