Naira Redesign:All Stars Football Club Abeokuta Lauds Gov. Abiodun For Visiting CBN Over Scarcity Of Cash

Allstars Football Club of Abeokuta have commended Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State for meeting with top officials of the Abeokuta branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to address the current hardship currently being experienced by commercial bank customers across the country, particularly in the state

President of the club, Alhaji Waheed Lawal and the Secretary,Semiu Babalola who gave the  commendation in a jointly signed statement  made available to Edu-biznews on Monday,  also lauded the governor for the immediate suspension of all his political campaign activities in the state due to untold hardship brought about by the widely condemned poor Implementation of the new monetary  policy of the apex bank which includes the newly redesigned naira notes and its  replacement  with old notes.

The search for new naira notes and the 10th of February deadline issued by the CBN when  the old naira notes of N200, N500 and N1,000 will  seize to be legal tender which is now  causing confusion, since the new naira notes are not available for Nigerians to spend and carry out their daily commercial and other transactions

For the State Government to deem it fit to suspend its rallies and campaigns is commendable and the entire members of our Club are  not only appreciating this but showing support and confidence in this administration.

We learnt that the Governor offered to lend members of his Cabinet to monitor cash distribution to Banks to ensure that no commercial bank or their Agents hoard the new Naira Notes in the State

The Governor had earlier met with President Muhammadu Buhari and the CBN Governor, all in a bid to have a lasting solution to the imbroglio

All Stars Football Club, Abeokuta who recorded historical feat in 2018 as the State Football Association Cup Champions strongly hope that all the efforts would not be in vain,as we look forward to better days ahead
