Over 440,000 Pupils Enrolled Into Ogun Primary Schools -SUBEB . .. Says Learning Environment More Conducive

Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has revealed that over 440, 000 pupils were enrolled into public primary schools across the state for the last academic session of 2021/2022

Chairman of the agency, Chief (Dr) Femi Majekodunmi who made this known to Edu-biznews in an interview in Abeokuta, attributed the upsurge in the number of enrollment to continous public awareness campaign and conducive learning and teaching environment now created by the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration in the state

According to him, SUBEB and the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology have continued to mount serious pressure on parents and guardians, taking public awareness campaign to them in the streets, markets and other public places on the need to enrol their wards into public primary schools to enjoy compulsory free and qualitative basic education being provided by government

Majekodunmi boasted that the Abiodun's administration within the space of three years had done more than the previous administrations in the area of construction of more Classrooms  with provision of other basic facilities in public schools such as furniture and toilets with running water as well as instructional materials for the pupils under the yellow roof revolution of the government

The SUBEB boss says  teachers in public schools are well qualified with the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE )as the minimum qualification

He added that the agency through its Quality Assurance Control Department was able to monitor the activities of teachers and ensure that they are always in the classrooms impacting knowledge on the pupils

Majekodunmi also recalled how the state was able to introduce digitalized classrooms via television and other devices to distinguish itself among other states to ensure seamless virtual classroom learning during the COVID-19 period which destrupted education of pupils in the country and across the globe
