Govermor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has showered encomium on the late Industrialist, Chief Bisi Rodipe, admonishing Nigerians to live an impactful life by emulating his sterling qualities of honesty and integrity
The Governor stated this in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday at the burial of the former Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area and a renowned forester, who died in the early hours of the day.
Abiodun, who noted that the late Rodipe was a principled and upright man, said he was known for his integrity in his dealings with fellow members of his community.
"Baba was a principled human being. He was an epitome of integrity and an upright man. He was the Chairman when Ijebu-Ode was very big and included Odogbolu and Ijebu-East Local Government Areas.
As an astute politician, Pa Rodipe served in both military and civilian regimes and his tenures are references in Ijebu-Ode's history.
The governor who recalled how their paths crossed in the course of his political career, said the late industrialist was truthful and would always say it the way it is without mincing words.
He said though Pa Rodipe lost his father at the age of 10, his hard work and determination to succeed spurred him to establish one of the successful furniture industries in the State as well as a director in several companies, including financial institutions.
"Pa Bisi Rodipe was a community man. He served and touched people's lives positively. He had passion for tree planting and forest regeneration. He was a loving husband and a dotting father to his children and some of us, the adopted children.
He will be greatly missed.
The governor charged Nigerians to think of how they would be remembered after their demise, saying that pa Rodipe lived a life worthy of emulation.
Also on Sunday, Gov. Abiodun paid a condolence visit to the family of Chief Kessington Adebutu family over the death of their matriarch, Dame Caroline Oladuni Adebutu, who died at the age of 83.
Speaking at the family house at Iperu-Remo, the governor described the death of the first wife of the business mogul as painful and loss of a rare gem, who dedicated her life to her family, service to humanity and God.
Abiodun, while urging the Adebutu Family not to grief but rejoice in the Lord that Madam Adebutu lived a life worthy of emulation, prayed that God grants the soul of the departed, eternal rest.
He further prayed that God should grant the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
