ASUSS Offers Tips To Teachers In Ogun On How To Manage Stress



Teachers in public secondary schools across Ogun State have been urged to always maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating well to enable them properly manage stress arising from increasing workload as a result of acute of shortage of teachers in the system

The State Chairman of Academics Staff Union of Secondary Schools
(ASUSS), Dr Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa who was recently elected gave the tip on stress management in an interview with Edu-biznews in Abeokuta

He also cautioned them against involvement in several cooperative societies , saying reduction in the membership of the cooperative societies would equally help them to manage stress as well 


Agbesanwa who blamed disturbing trend of death among teachers on work overload because of shortage of teachers in the public secondary schools , urged them to take it easy and always visit the hospital for regular medical checkup to prevent sudden death caused by stress arising from workload in the classrooms

The union chairman however pleaded with Ogun State Government to recruite more teachers under Ogun Teaching Scheme volunteering teaching programme, so as to reduce workload of teachers currently in the system

On attacks on teachers which has reduced drastically in the recent time , Agbesanwa warned that ASUSS would not tolerate any act of gangsterism or hooliganism against its members, saying the union will ensure that anybody caught in the act will be punished accordingly inline with the provision of the law

He then called for unity among teachers in the public secondary schools in the state , promising that the new executive council of ASUSS under his leadership remain committed to the welfare of teachers
