Pleateau Utd, Bayelsa Queens Crash Out Of CAF Competitions As Rivers United Secure Ticket For Confederation Cup's Group Stage





It was a mixed feelings for Nigerian clubsides on Wednesday  in the various competitions by the Conferation of Africa Football (CAF), as Plateau United of Jos crashed out of second tier confederation cup, just as Bayelsa Queens of Yenegoa failed to overcome their host, ASFAR in a semi-final of the ongoing 
 CAF Women's Champions League in Morocco

Plateau United squandered their 4-1 advantage in the first leg of the competition's play-off  played at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja 

Akhdar of Libya canceled the three goals deficit in second half of the returning encounter, securing their place in the group stage on 4-4 aggregate, having recorded an away goal against Nigerians 

In the CAF Women's Champions League, Bayelsa Queens narrowly lost by lone-goal to ASFAR who qualified for the final of the competition  courtesy of Jraidi's first half goal 


The Nigerian Women League Champions will now face Simba Queens of Tanzania in a losers final  while ASFAR take on the defending Champions,Memolodi Sundown of South Africa in final of the second edition of the competition

Rivers United of Port Harcourt however redeemed Nigeria's image on the continent after forcing their host, El Nasr of Libya to one-all draw in another CAF Conferation play-off, therefore booked their place for the group stage of the competition with a 6-1 aggregate win 

It will be recalled that the Stanley Eguma tutored side recorded a massive 5-0 win against the Libyans in the first leg of the played last week in Port Harcourt
