Ogun To Build Additional 1,000 Classrooms In Public Schools

Ogun State Government is planning to build additional 1,000 classrooms in public schools across the State, to complement the existing 1,000 earlier constructed by the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration, to further create a conducive teaching and learning environment for learners.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu dropped this hint in Ijebu-Ode, during the commissioning and handing-over of a block of six toilets, computers and internet facilities donated by the Old Students’ Association of Luba Comprehensive School, Ijebu-Ode.

The Commissioner stated that Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA), and Adopt a School Programme, among other initiatives of the present administration had been yielding valuable results

Arigbabu noted that the Ministry had embarked on various innovations to raise the status of 511 public secondary schools to become flagship schools.

He expressed gratitude to the Association for giving back to the school, describing the gesture as a way of laying good examples for the young ones, saying, "when I see Old Students coming back to celebrate the anniversary of their schools, I'm always happy because that is the way to remember our roots".

Also speaking, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Association, Alhaji Tola Akorede had earlier appreciated the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for the massive infrastructural development in schools across the State, promising to support the government to achieve more milestones in the education sector.
