Governor Dapo Abiodun has assured that approval would be given for the release of the Education Trust Fund and developmental projects, to cater for the annual rehabilitation of more public schools across Ogun State.
Prince Abiodun gave the assurance at the two-day Treasury Board Meeting on year 2023-2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2023 budget, organised by the Ministry of Budget and Planning at Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, adding that the present administration’s policies and actions were geared towards standardising key sectors of the economy.
The governor said that his administration since inception had consolidated on global best practices for financial management reforms, restating its determination to continue to provide an enabling environment for private sector investment and partnership for the efficiency and effectiveness of key processes.
He applauded the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for the introduction of Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA) platform which had integrated technology into teaching and learning activities, the Learners Identification Number (LIN), and many others, noting that the notable innovations and achievements recorded had improved academic performances of learners.
“I want to appreciate the introduction of the Education Management System which is very unique, the introduction of Learners Identification Number and the OGSERA platform that allows you to have a compilation of the state of infrastructure of all our public schools”, Abiodun said.
The Commissioner in the Ministry, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu while presenting the Ministry’s fiscal year budget proposal, promised to work in tandem with the present administration’s vision to deliver on its ‘ISEYA’ mantra.
Arigbabu said more construction and rehabilitation of schools would be carried out, particularly the senior secondary schools, reiterating the agency's commitment to increasing its Internally Generated Revenue.
