Ogun State Government has solicited for more partnership of relevant organizations to develop capacity of new farmers, just as it lauded German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ for its technical support in agricultural sector of the economy , particularly in data compilation and monitoring of projects execution to achieve the expected goals
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina who made the call while hosting a team from the German agency led by its Senior Planning Advisor, Nil Wetzel
in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office, said such training would keep the farmers abreast of happenings in the sector and boost food production
Odedina noted that the support of GIZ, enable government to effectively deliver projects inline with their objectives
He also advocated for linkage to fund, mechanisation, access to information and sustainable supply of agricultural inputs.
Earlier in his presentation, the GIZ team leader, Wetzel said the visit was to gather information and feedback to help them in planning and preparation for the new phase of its programme which would take-off soon in the State.
