Don't Extort Parents, Students -Ogun Govt Warns Teachers, School Administrators

Ogun State Government has strongly warned administrators and teachers in its schools against  indulging in extortion of parents and students or any other unwholesome acts capable of tarnishing their reputations and that of the state

Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission, Evangelist Olalekan Ifede who handed down the warning in Abeokuta, while addressing the Principal-Generals (PGs) and Zonal Secretaries, vowed that disciplinary action would be taken against any erring officer.

He stated that the present administration had made education free in its schools, to enable every child has access to quality education.

Ifede said government had made financial provision for schools to cater for their expenses, urging the teaching and non-teaching staff to always accept posting in good fate, as redistribution of staff was done to propel academic excellence in schools.

He noted that the ongoing revitilisation in the education sector by the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration was yielding positive results, imploring all stakeholders to continue to support its agenda in all ramifications for the development of the State.

In his contribution, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye, charged Principal-Generals and Zonal Secretaries to be committed to work and embrace integrity as academic leaders, stating that they were symbols of emulation to their subordinates.

Responding, the Principal-General, Yewa Zone, Mr. Sunday Orobiyi, who spoke on behalf of the PGs and Zonal Secretaries, lauded the Commission for the admonitions and suggestions, promising to discharge their duties responsibly towards promoting educational standard.
