Crescent University Graduates 446, Honours Chief Bode Mustapha, Two Others With Doctorate Degrees




Crescent University, Abeokuta in Ogun State capital,South West Nigeria has graduated four hundred and forty-six  446 graduands in various degree  programmes, including 46 who bagged first class grade at its 14th Convocation for the 2021/2022 session

The university also confered three prominent Nigerians who distinguished themselves in their respective fields with honorary Doctorate Degrees, including the Osi of Egbaland, Chief Olabode Akeem Mustapha with Honorary Degree of Doctor of Political Science and International Studies, the Ekaarun Olubadan of  Ibadanland, Chief Murtala Adebayo Akande with Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science in Business Administration and Hajia Tamramat Mosun Belo-Olusoga, a Lead Consultant/Chief Executive Officer of the Knowledge and Resource Centre Limited who was honoured with Degree of Doctor of Science in Finance 

Similarly the Department of Mass Communication of the university produced its pioneer set of 41 holders of Diploma Certificate in Film, Performance and Communication  Studies including top Nigerian movie stars , Bolaji Amusan, a.k.a Mr. Latin  Ololade Ebun Oloyede a.k.a Olaiya Igwe  

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila addressing the graduands during the convocation held at the main auditorium of the Institution over the weekend, said 200 graduated with Second Class Upper Division,150( Second Lower Division) and 50 others with Third Class 


Gbajabiamila added that 35 students bagged Master degree cutting across the departments while 78 others graduated with Diploma in Islamic Studies, Broadcasting, Film, Performance and Communication Studies and Certificate in Broadcasting

The university according to him, enjoys full accreditation of all its academic programmes including LLB.Law, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Microbiology, Islamic Studies, Mass Communication, Architecture, Biochemistry, Economics, Businesses Administration and Political Science and International Studies

The Vice-Chancellor revealed that the university during the academic session matriculated 623 fresh students across various departments while erring students were suspended for anti-social vices and indecent dressing among others by the University Senate 

On academic standard, he stressed that the university would continue to uphold its high standard

"We do not compromise quality, therefore priority is given to ensure high quality of our programmes leading to full accreditation.We shall continue in our quest to computerize all academic activities thereby making the University 21st Century compliant in all ramifications", Gbajabiamila added

The Vice-Chancellor then charged the graduands to look to the future with confidence saying the university had properly equipped them to succeed

"Our education of integrity and moral excellence should guide you always so that you can be an inspiration to those around you", he urged the graduands 

The proprietor of the university , Judge Bola Ajibola SAN who was represented by his son, Segun Ajibola SAN, a member of the Institution's board of trustees assured stakeholders including parents, staff and students that the university would continue to sustain the rate of infrastructural development to create conducive learning environment while appreciating the parents for the support so far

"We cannot rest on our oars but must continually strive to raise the bar of excellence, through mutual efforts that will ensure seamless delivery of our educational objectives", he stated 

Prizes were given to graduands with outstanding academic performances in various departments including Amzat Semiu Biola of the Department of Islamic Studies who emerged as overall best Graduating Students
