Rivers United of Port Harcourt completed a week of nightmare for Nigerian clubs as they suffered a 6-0 bashing from host, Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League second round match played on Sunday in Morocco
Both Plateau United of Jos and Kwara United of Ilorin had earlier on Saturday crashed out in their respective matches in the CAF Champions League and Conferation Cup after losing on away goal rule to Esperance of Tunisia in Tunis and Berkane in Morocco
The Nigerian Champions, Rivers who had earlier recorded a slim 2-1 win over the defending champions in the first leg played in Port Harcourt, could not hold the Moroccans who were merciless in the return leg
The Stanley Eguma tutored side lost rythme and were defending their 2-1 advantage recorded in the first leg, allowing the host team to mount ceaseless pressure on them leading to the sending off of the Nigerian side's goal keeper for being reckless in his approach
