Ogun Screens Pry Sch.Leavers Into 42 Flagship Secondary Schools

Ogun State Government  has conducted screening for primary school's leavers seeking admission into its 42 flagship secondary schools, for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology
in the Ministry, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who made this known during monitoring of the exercise in Abeokuta, explained that the screening was aimed at  ensuring that the selection process was based on merit, using Optical Memory Recorder (OMR) sheets to avoid human manipulations.

The Commissioner  accompanied by his  Special Assistant to Mr. Niyi Olaitan, and the Director of Curriculum Development and Evaluation, Mrs. Mariam Oloko, says  the flagship schools are the frontline schools selected across the three geo-political zones of the State.

Arigbabu encouraged parents to enroll their children in public schools, saying adequate infrastructure had been put in place by the government for smooth teaching and learning activities.

"The Optical Memory Recorder (OMR) sheets we have introduced in the exercise are to ensure standards. We are also putting infrastructure in place, with the distribution of furniture to schools. We will not stop until every learner in the State gets a chair and table", he said.

The Commissioner pointed out that the hostel facilities in the flagship schools were up to standard with maximum security, urging parents and guardians to cooperate with the school authorities in the upbringing of their wards.

Speaking on behalf of other parents, Mr. Sanni Ganiyu and Mrs. Adenike Alawiye commended the  State Government and the Ministry for a well-organised exercise, as well as the ongoing transformation in the education sector.
