All is now set for the formal inauguration of the newly reconstituted governing councils of the Ogun State-owned two universities and six polytechnics, as well as that of the State Library Board, this Thursday, 25th August, 2022.
Governing Councils to be inaugurated by Governor Dapo Abiodun include those of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye; Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun; Ijebu-Ode, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta; Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa; Gateway Polytechnic, Saapade; Abaraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo; D.S. Adegbenro Polytechnic, Itori and Ogun State College of Health Technology, Ilese.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who made this known in a statement made available to Edu-biznews on Wednesday, said the inauguration ceremony would hold at the Cinema Hall of the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta at 11am prompt.
The statement further said that the composition of the Governing Council would “strengthen governance and administration in the institutions and render their performance more responsive to the dictates of the State Government’s Building Our Future Together Agenda.”
To be included as members of the approved new governing councils of the Institutions are the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance,
representatives of the Senate of the two universities,representatives of the Academic Board of the Polytechnics representatives of the Congregation of each of the institutions and representatives of the Alumni of the institutions
Also to be inaugurated on the same day and venue is the State Library Board. Chaired by Prof. Segun Awonusi, its members which include
Mrs Bamidele Makinde, Dr.(Mrs) Ayodele Olubunmi Womiloju, Dr. Adebambo A. Oduwole (CLN) ,Dr. (Mrs) Oyinade Tomori ( CLN)
