You Are Engineer OF ‘New Normal In Ogun Education's Sector - NAPPS Boss Tells Gov.Abiodun.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has been described as an engineer of ‘ new normal’ due to the technology innovation injected into the teaching and learning activities, towards improving educational standards in the State.

The President, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Dr. Lawrence  Holumidey, made this known in Abeokuta, during an interview with newsmen, at the State Screening of Nominees for the Year 2022 Ogun State Teachers' Excellence Award, organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Dr. Holumidey said the onboarding of both Private and Public schools on Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA), had done good to the educational system.

He commended the present administration in the State for the massive infrastructural development in schools and the unflinching support accorded the private institutions, saying the giant steps has retained its enviable position in education, urging individuals, corporate organisations and other well-meaning people in the society to join hands with the government to fund the education sector.

‘’It is practically impossible for the government to be the only one funding education, even in nations where they have fantastic economy. Like what we use to have in the past, missionaries, private individuals and others that are well established financially can support the government to fund education", he said.

 Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology,Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, represented by the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Mr. Ezekiel Adewunmi says  the present administration has never failed to reward excellent personalities in skills development and character moulding

He added that several awards, such as cash, cars, houses and other gifts had been given to people that had made the State proud.

Arigbabu appreciated people that added value to the recognition and celebration of excellence in the education industry, saying teaching and learning would improve, if all and sundry see it as a collective responsibility.

Representing the Director PRS, Mr. Adewunmi, the Deputy Director in the department, Mrs. Mary Okereafor revealed that the era of manual administration  in the education system is gone, saying government is focusing on how to digitise the system to avoid human manipulations, submitting that the best would be chosen base on merit
