Former National Basketball side tactician, Pa Alabi Adelanwa has rallied support for the Engr.Musa Kida led Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) to enable D'Tigers qualify for the FIBA-Worldcup, following return of the West Africa country to the international basketball after the reversal of its withdrawal from the game at the global level
Adelanwa in a chat with Edu-biznews over the weekend at his country's home in Abeokuta hailed Nigeria returned to the international basketball, asked all stakeholders in the game to bury their differences and team up with Kida for the growth of the basketball in the country
"I want to appeal to all stakeholders that we should work together with the NBBF to enable the federation continue with its developmental programme, we have talented players that should be nurtured for greatness," he stated
The veteran coach was full of confidence that national men's basketball side, D'Tigers would qualify for the world cup during the second round window slated to hold between August 22 and 30
Adelanwa who discovered the likes of the legendary NBA star, Akeem Olajuwon and former Captain of D'Tigers, Olumide Oyedeji amongst other great players, strongly believed in the current leadership of the Nigeria Basketball Federation NBBF to move the game forward
Nigeria's D'Tigers qualified for the next round of the qualifiers after the initial defeat 71-79 points to the group C leader, Cape Verde , later walked over Mali and beat Uganda 91-72points
The three countries will be competing in the second window
which has other qualifiers from group A which has Angola, Coted'Ivoire, Guinea and Central Africa Republic
