Ogun Unfolds Plan To Immortalise Late Mama Olumo, Commiserates With Family

 


Ogun State Government has unfolded its plan to Immortalise  Late Chief Mrs. Sinatu Sanni, popularly known as Mama Olumo who passed away at the age of 137.

 The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo announced the plan during a visit to the family members to commiserate with them over the death of the custodian of the historic tourism site 
 
 leading a team of the ministry to the family’s resident in Abeokuta, he  says  that the governor is passionate about the welfare of the citizenry, especially the aged, adding that the government would continue to give support to them.

His words , “the government came to commiserate with the family of a great custodian of history, who has become a tourist attraction, whom many tourists to the Olumo rock come to see and believe historical stories from her and facts about the history of the Egba people and some of the past paramount rulers up to the fourth king”.

He stated that the Ministry has the documentation of the lives and times of Mama Olumo for future generations, as someone who has made an input on humanity, saying the government would immortalise her name.

Abiodun noted that the present administration has been concerned and passionate about the welfare of Mama Sanni and her family for the positive impact she has made in Egbaland, Abeokuta, and the nation as a whole.

Thereafter, a condolence register was signed, while Governor's Letter of Condolence was also presented to the deceased family.
