Ogun Govt Applauds Setting up Of AFREXIM's Centre,..Says It Will Improve Local Products

 



Ogun State Government has applauded the establishment of the AFREXIM's Africa Quality Assurance Center in Sagamu, meant for testing and certification of Agricultural products, saying it will improve on the quality of local products 

Deputy Governor of the state, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele who gave the commendation, said that the establishment of the centre had come at a strategic time when the State is determined to boost its existing industrial base.

Salako-Oyedele  leading other government functionaries on an assessment tour of the facility, noted that the establishment of the Centre would complement the ongoing construction of the Agro-Cargo Airport project at Iperu-Remo.

She revealed that Governor Dapo Abiodun recently signed a $400m Memorandum of Understanding with investors, to enable government provide  the facility to meet the  needs of investors 

“Construction of this facility could not have come at a very strategic time for us here in Ogun State, as Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration has the vision to boost the already existing industrial base across the State”, the deputy governor said.

Salako-Oyedele appreciated AFREXIM for the wonderful initiative in the State and Africa as a whole, stating that it was an opportunity for individuals who were interested to venture into export deals.

Earlier in her remarks, Director of Export Development, Afrexim Bank, Mrs. Oluranti Doherty, commended the State government for its commitment to the development of the State,

She explained  that the Centre was set up by Afrexim Bank to serve as a major testing and certification arena for agricultural products before it could be exported.

According to  Doherty, the innovation is the first of its kind in the African continent and will attract more investors to the State and serve as a major training center for Small and Medium Enterprises 

She assured government of a more mutually beneficial relationship
