Plateau United managed a lone-goal victory over visiting Kano Pillars in Jos, to reduce the ten points lead of Rivers United of Port Harcourt who suffered a similar defeat to host, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in the week 32 matches played on Sunday in the top-flight Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL
Rivers United despite the defeat, are still at the summit of the elite league with 67points while second placed Plateau United are now on 60 points
Also Enugu Rangers retained its third position on the table with 51, points, despite losing to Abia Warriors 2-0 on the road in the Oriental derby while fourth placed Remo Stars moved closer with 50 points, after a slim one/nill win against Gombe United
Kwara United with 49 points are closely followed in the fifth position after a 2-0 win against the visitors, Katsina United in Ilorin while sixth placed Enyimba International of Aba with 48points narrowly lost to host 2-1 to Niger Tornadoes in Minna
In other matches played, bottom placed MFM of Lagos with 33points settled for a goal less draw with Lobi Stars of Makurdi while relegation threatened Heartland of Owerri in the 18th position with 37points, defeated defending champions ,Akwa United of Uyo by a lone-goal
Another side still in the relegation water, Dakkada United in the 19th position with 33points, beat Shooting Stars of Ibadan 2-0 while Sunshine Stars of Akure narrowly defeated Nasarawa United 2-1
