Signing of Undertaking Forms By Parents, Learners Has Reduced Cases Of Indiscipline In Schools-Ogun Govt

Ogun State Government  says  cases of all forms of indiscipline have drastically reduced in schools, while learning activities are on course without any disruption, as a result of the signing of undertaking forms by parents, guardians and learners and other measures put in place, to restore sanity in the system 

The State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu revealed  this during the commissioning and handing over of science laboratories and other projects by the Old Students' Association of Ilugun Central Academy, Atan in Ijebu North-East, to commemorate its 50th Founder’s Day Anniversary.

The Commissioner  added that  the measures had curbed acts of hooliganism, thuggery, lateness, irregularity in attendance of learners, examination malpractices, among others, saying appropriate sanction awaits any learner that deviates.

According to him, “ the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration is working hard to revitalize education in the State

“Efforts are in top gear to launch Education Intervention Fund to upgrade schools at all levels”, he stressed.

"The era of manual administration in the education sector is gone in the State. We have digitalised our process of transfer, Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) registration, screening of students into flagship schools, and so on. In fact, Ogun is the first State in the country to introduce e-dossier, once you open the column on the ogsera platform, type the learner’s identification number, then, you can view the student's result", Prof. Arigbabu said

Arigbabu noted that the huge investment of the government in public schools had yielded positive results, particularly in National competitions, adding that the outcome of the last JETS Competition reflected that the State won 18 out of 24 medals, expressing gratitude towards the donations by the Association and assured that government would not relent in creating conducive atmospheres in schools.

Speaking, the President of the Association, Ogbeni Tunde Shittu said the support was part of the Association’s mandate to complement the government’s efforts and to enable students to excel in their studies, especially in science subjects.
