MAPOLY, Others To Get Governing Councils Soon- Ogun Govt

Hope rises for the reconstitution of the much talked about Governing Council for the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY Abeokuta and other tertiary Institutions owned by the Ogun State Government who are yet to have such councils in place for the running of the system

The workers at MAPOLY  have  expressed concern over the delay in the appointment of members of the councils which according to them, is affecting the smooth administration of the respective Institutions

But the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile and Spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Ambassador Tunde Oladunjoye on a separate live programmes on different private radio stations monitored by Edu-Biznews in Abeokuta, gave strong indication that government was in the process of appointing members into the Govenerning  Councils for all its  affected tertiary Institutions and would soon reconstitute them

The workers in the affected Institutions are  claiming that the appointment of the councils would provide direction for the Institutions, particularly the late payment of salaries and other welfare packages for staffers both academic and non-academic

At MAPOLY, workers who are groaning over non regular payment of their salaries are demanding for the immediate reconstitution of the council and appointment of substantive Rector for the polytechnic

Both workers at the MAPOLY and those at the  Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology, formerly Tai Solarin College of Education in Omu-Ijebu, however commended the Dapo Abiodun's administration for facilitating the backlog of salaries inherited from the immediate past administration of Ibikunle Amosun  whose non-action grounded activities in the Institutions
