Abiodun Advocates Promotion Of Yoruba Language, As Adeoye Lambo High Sch.Wins 2022 Egba Dialect Debate Contest




Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has advocated for promotion of the Yoruba Language particularly among the present generation  of young people, to prevent the language from going into extinction just as Adeoye Lambo Memorial  High School, Obada Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area won the 2022 Egba Dialect Debate Competiton among secondary schools  in the six Local Government Areas in Ogun Central Senatorial District

The governor represented by the Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Dr.Oluwatoyin Taiwo at the grand finale of the 4th edition of Egba Dialect and Choral Competition held on Wednesday  at the main auditorium of Olusegun Obasanjo Presdental Library in Abeokuta, lauded Senator Lanre Tejuoso for initiating such competition ,to encourage the speaking of Egba dialect and promotion of culture and tradition  of Egbas among school children in Egbaland




Students of the  Adeoye Lambo Memorial High School won the cash prize of N150,000 plus trophy for emerging champion in the debate on “Drug Abuse And Addiction By Youth in Nigeria “,beating Oba Community Comprehensive High School  in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area to the second position while Orile Ipooro Comprehensive High School, Ijemo Fadipe in Odeda Local Government Area finished in third position 

In the Choral contest, Aderenle High School in Ifo Local Government Area emerged winner,Nawair-Ud-Deen Grammar, Obantoko,Abeokuta came second while Premier  Grammar School,Lafenwa in Abeokuta North Local Government Area ended in the third position

Some of the dignitaries at the event included the Alake of Egbaland ,Oba Adedotun Gbadebo represented by OSI Of Egbaland, High Chief Bode Mustapha, Osile of Oke-Ona Egbaland, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and his Oloris(wives), Sen.Gbenga Obadara, representative of Olubara of Ibara,Oba Jacob Omolade,  the State Head of Service ,Dr.Nofiu Aigoro,  Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education ,Science and Technology, Mrs Abosede Ogunleye  amongst others
