The Nigeria Police Force team will on Sunday, next week clash with Vehicle Inspection Service VIS side in the semi-finals of the ongoing maiden Ogun State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN Security Safety Cup in Abeokuta, the state capital
In other semi-final match, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps TRACE will battle Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC for a place in the final of the football tournament
The match between Police and VIS hold at the main-bowl of the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta between 2pm and 4pm while the other encounter between TRACE and NSCDC hold later at 4pm on the same day and venue
To qualify for the semi-finals stage, Nigeria Police finished top of Group A with 7points alongside second placed TRACE with 4points, while Amotekun and Fire Service crashed out of the competition.
On the other hand, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) qualified to the Semi-final with 7 points as leader of Group B alongside Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) with 5points.
According the Chairman, Main Organizing Committee, Mr. Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, the final match of the competition will come up on Wednesday, 2nd March, 2022.
He said Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will be the Special Guest of Honour, the Speaker, Ogun state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo is the Guest of Honour while the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Hon. Olumide Osoba is the Chairman of the occasion.
Ogunsiji added that the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde is the Chief host, the Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye is the royal father of the day
