Abiodun Woos More Egyptian Firms To Ogun




Governor Dapo Abiodun has continued to woo more firms in Egypt to invest in Ogun State,South West Nigeria, the latest being Orascom Construction Plc, a leading, global engineering and construction company

Abiodun had earlier this week was in Egypt where he held a meeting with the construction company's top officials.




The meeting is targeted at attracting investments in infrastructure, commerce and industry through public-private sector arrangements of the Abiodun's administration

The meeting attended by top officials Emad A. Boulos, Ahmed Elzoghby and Ayman El Zoghby, is expected to enhance  the enabling environment of businesses in Ogun State, as initiated by the State Government.

Abiodun had on the 9th of February met with another firm  in Egypt, the Elsewedy Group, led by the President and CEO, Ahmed El Sewedy. 

The company is one of the largest conglomerates in Egypt but with significant investment opportunities across Africa.

The visit was aimed at identifying partnership opportunities with a view to facilitate multi-sectoral investments to the state. 

The President of Afreximbank, Dr. Benedict Okey was also in attendance at the meeting 

He also met with Peter Emil, the Chief Business Development Officer - Áfríkà for Wadi Degla Holding, a Cairo-based multi-business conglomerate that is into real estate, telecoms, and sports services.

While the meeting lasted, they had discussions that centered around some key investment opportunities available in the areas of creative arts, entertainment and sports development.

"As the Wadi Degla Holding explores the African market - especially in Nigeria, it is our strong belief that the Gateway State would be given utmost consideration due to the existing ease of doing business and other socio-economic development considerations which place us at a vantage position in the country", the governor stated
