Qatar 2022 Worldcup: Eagles Sustain Lead, Beat Liberia 2-0




Super Eagles of Nigeria  defeated host Lone Star  of Liberia by  two/nil in a Qater 2022 World cup qualifier played on Saturday at Grand  Stade De-Tanger in Morocco, to sustain their top position in Group C in Africa

Napoli of Italy star, Victor Osimhen opened  scoring for the Eagles  from the penalty  spot in the 15th minute of the encounter,  before Substitute  Ahmed Musa doubled the lead  after converting another penalty awarded against the host within the stoppage time of the thrilling match

In the other group match decided, Cape Verde Island came from a goal down to beat hard-fighting visiting Central African Republic  side  two/one ,to maintain its second position with 10points behind Eagles who are topping with 12points  

The Gernot Rohr tutored side will be seeking just a point when they host Blue Sharks of  Cape Verde in this Tuesday final match at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Nigeria’s commercial city of Lagos, to qualify for the next round of the world cup qualifier as winner of the group, to play  in the final play off  for the five tickets for Africa in the world cup
